In a classic game of two halves, Newburgh went into a deserved twogoal lead before succumbing to a resurgent Kirkcaldy side in the second half
Newburgh took the lead shortly before half time through a Scott Finlay goal lashed in from a tight angle on the right of the penalty area. Finlay put Burgh two ahead early in the second half.
However what had been a well organised Newburgh side that made good use of the offside trap in the first half, had no answer to Kirkcaldys for goalsecond half blitz, including three headed goals and a penalty.In an exciting game for the spectators, although ultimately dissappointing for the home support, passions were high for both teams.
Three player were sent off, resultin in Kirkcaldy finishing the game with 10 players and Newburgh with only nine.
